All my fellow paper-loving folks out there are about to be so happy, because this post is all about my brand new 2015 daily planner! There are so many wonderful planners out there, so choosing one for this year was really difficult. Last year, I used a target planner by sugar paper and it was pretty nice. And the year before I used a folifax planner. Those were weekly/ monthly planners – meaning they used 1 sheet of paper per week so I knew going forward into 2015 I wanted to try a daily-style planner that used 1 sheet per day.

In the end, I settled on the Day Designer by Whitney English.

I felt that this planner was more geared toward small business owners than other daily planners I had come across (like mommy planners) and the design and layout is just beautiful! There seems to be a big emphasis on goal setting, business branding, and vision- although each day does include meal planning for dinners though (shout out to all the wives out there in the same boat as me!). Love that! daily planner for business owners and photographersOn each agenda page, there is an inspirational quote. For example, the first page I opened to was January 2nd and this was the quote, “The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.” -Helen Keller.

daily planner for business owners and photographersI’m a big fan of all the gold details like the hardware, monthly tabs, and boarders on the pages!! I needed a planner that would be great quality if it was going to last a year traveling with me and getting tossed into tote bags and purses. The cover has such a sturdy, well-made feel with metal enforced edges which will keep it from getting dogeared.daily planner for business owners and photographers Here’s a couple shots of some of the business vision and goal planning pages. I can’t wait to start filling them out!(C) Joy Michelle Photography 2014 daily planner for business owners and photographers While I was researching planners, there was one element of the Day Designer that sold me when I saw it. The Daily Gratitude block. Fostering a greater sense of overall thankfulness is something I want to cultivate in myself in 2015 and having this little block in my daily planner will be a terrific reminder. I took part in the “1,000 things” challenge last year (where you make a list of 1,000 things you are grateful for over the course of a few months) and it completely changed the way I saw my life and the way I thought. daily planner for business owners and photographers In the back of the binder, there is an overview of 2016 dates with blank spaces. My last planner didn’t have this (only a small chart with the numbers) and as December rolled around I have been booking engagement sessions and making January plans for 2015, and was caught without any planner pages to jot it down. I think this addition will make that transition from 2015 to 2016 that much smoother!daily planner for business owners and photographers daily planner for business owners and photographers daily planner for business owners and photographersI would love to hear from you what planner (or computer calendar) is your favorite, and what you will be using in 2015 to keep your world organized!
